Department stores‘ chain Bloomingdale’s is unveiling its Wicked Good Holiday campaign in partnership with Universal Pictures’ new film, Wicked, which tells the story of the Witches of Oz.
The festive season is approaching, and with it the launch of the Christmas and New Year campaigns and collections. Called Wicked Good Holiday, the new activation from Bloomingdale’s celebrates the film Wicked, which will be released in cinemas in France on 4 December. The fantasy musical is based on Gregory Maguire’s book Wicked: The True Story of the Wicked Witch of the West. This story of the Witches of Oz was also adapted into a legendary Broadway show, named Wicked after the film directed by John M. Chu.
The show follows the journey of Glinda, played by singer Ariana Grande, who is none other than the popular and privileged Good Witch of the West. At her side is Elphaba, a young woman misunderstood because of her green skin colour, who has no idea of the extent of her powers. Elphaba is played by actress Cynthia Erivo, who was master of ceremonies at the CFDA Awards 2024 on 28 October. The two friends’ relationship is put to the test by the famous Wizard of Oz. This exciting adventure in the land of Oz, where each of them fulfils her destiny, has inspired the Bloomingdale’s chain of shops.
