Balenciaga: Kim Kardashian makes the brand’s searches explode

American businesswoman Kim Kardashian has become the new face of Spanish luxury fashion house Balenciaga and is driving up search results for the brand’s pieces.

 

Partly following the House’s announcement to choose Kim Kardashian as the icon for its new campaign, the latter blew up searches for Balenciaga clothes and accessories in just a few hours.

 

The announcement was revealed on both Balenciaga’s and Kim Kardashian’s Instagram accounts, where we could see the latter posing in a black jumpsuit to present the luxury House’s new bag, Le Cagole. Photographed by Stef Mitchell, the photos feature the businesswoman in her own home in Calabasas, California, wearing pieces from the fashion house’s latest collection.

More photos from the new campaign were then unveiled, showing Kim Kardashian wearing a leopard print coat and a long black coat, accompanied by the star bag of the moment, the Hourglass model.

So the strategy seemed to pay off as, according to online platform Love the Sales, more than 284 million followers on Instagram searched to find out where to get the pieces worn by the business woman. Searches for leopard print coats increased by 513% in one day and black oversized coats rose by 233%. Le Cagole neon green bags saw a +325% increase in searches, while requests for cat eye sunglasses increased by +100% from the day before the new muse was announced.
