Luxury airline United Airlines is pulling out all the stops to appeal to high-end travelers. Faced with a fast-growing demand for premium travel experiences, the American airline has unveiled the “United Elevated” interior of its future Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The new layout will enter service from 2026 on routes linking San Francisco to Singapore and London.
United Airlines is benefiting from strong demand for its premium offerings. In the first quarter, the company saw strong demand for Premium cabins, with growth of 9.2%, while Business cabins were up 7.4% year-on-year. This renewed interest in comfort and the travel experience is also reflected in forward bookings, up 17% for Premium cabins.
In response to this demand, United Airlines has decided to expand its luxury offer…
A new generation of premium cabins
At the heart of this transformation, United is introducing a new type of cabin, the United Polaris Studio. These exclusive suites, of which there will be eight per aircraft, will offer an unprecedented level of comfort for the airline: flat reclining seats 25% more spacious than current Polaris, direct aisle access, private door, footrest with belt to accommodate a companion, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charger and 27-inch 4K OLED screen – the largest offered in business class by an American airline.
