The fashion and beauty brand of the former British singer turned businesswoman is said to be considering expanding into textiles and furnishings. A collection launch is scheduled for this year.
Victoria Beckham fully intends to establish herself in our homes.
According to information revealed by The Mirror and picked up by the Italian press, the former Spice Girl, who has become as famous as her footballer husband, is planning to diversify her fashion and beauty label, launched in 2008.
Textiles and furnishings
Having recently appointed a new CEO for her Beauty division, the businesswoman has reportedly filed applications with the UK Intellectual Property Office to register her name as a trademark for articles in classes 8 and 20, relating to the manufacture of textiles and furnishings.
The application was reportedly made by the Victoria Beckham Limited holding company, managed by Ralph Toledano, and by the London law firm Lee & Thompson. The Office to which the request was made is said to have accepted it and is currently evaluating it. But according to the press, the launch is scheduled for this year. And fans of the businesswoman’s chic, minimalist and timeless outfits should find on the products of the future Home division the same logo already appearing on her ready-to-wear.
The name of the potential future partner for this new Brand Home division of the former singer is not yet known. While Italian fashion houses have been pioneers in extending their territory to lifestyle and Home in particular, several (Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Trussardi…) rely, for example, on their compatriot, Luxury Living Group. The latter claims to be a leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of luxury furniture. It also collaborates with luxury car brands Bugatti and Bentley Home (which has just been launched).
A busy year for Victoria Beckham
For her part, Victoria Beckham has certainly had a busy year.
She recently confirmed the appointment of Lauren Edelman as head of her Beauty division. She is counting on this industry expert, who co-founded the beauty subscription service Birchbox before working at Chanel, L’Oréal Luxe and Rose, to develop her beauty products.
However, it has yet to appoint a new CEO, following the departure last October of Marie Leblanc (formerly of Celine, Printemps and Sonia Rykiel). In the meantime, Ralph Toledano, President of Victoria Beckham and former President of the (French) Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, is overseeing the managerial transition.
Marie Leblanc, who arrived in 2019, had remained at the helm of Victoria Beckham for five years. A period that she knew how to make the most of to give the House a fresh boost.
In 2023, according to the British press, Victoria Beckham’s turnover had jumped 52% to 89.1 million pounds sterling ($110 million). But above all, her adjusted gross operating profit (EBITDA) had skyrocketed by 800% to 1.8 million pounds (2.2 million dollars). Operating losses had fallen to 200,000 pounds (247,000 dollars).
