[Luxus Magazine] The most beautiful rooftop hotels in Paris

As the sun begins to shine, Parisian hotels with rooftops are quickly snapped up by locals and foreign tourists alike. With their breathtaking views over the monuments and rooftops of the City of Light, these addresses are perfect for a drink and a bite to eat at any time of day.

Just a stone’s throw from the Place de la Bastille, in the 4th arrondissement, the SO/ Paris is a lifestyle hotel that is an ode to art and fashion. The 162 rooms, in shades of blue and orange, are adorned with panelling and geometric motifs. The lights in the Codage spa are just as warm. But what really brings us here is the hotel’s restaurant Bonnie and bar, one of the most beautiful rooftops in Paris, with a bird’s eye view over the Seine. On the 15th floor, where the table is nestled on a 60s-style carpet, you can feast on French dishes with New York accents under a glass ceiling that enlarges the room. As you savour green asparagus with ravigote sauce and American-style coquelet, your gaze wanders over the sublime Parisian landscape. From the movement of the bateaux-mouches to Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower, all the beauty of the capital is revealed. The panorama from the Lobby Café, on the upper floor, is just as impressive. This bar, reminiscent of a retro New York penthouse, is decorated with mosaics on the floors, marble, glass and a plant-like work on the wall by Neïl Beloufa.

La Fantaisie

With 73 rooms and suites to its name, this five-star hotel in the 9th arrondissement of Paris is all about flowers and plants. The accommodation and public areas are colourful, with floral wallpaper, natural colours such as water green, grey blue between sky and sea and sunny yellow, and furniture and objects decorated with flowers and plants. Mosaic plants climb the walls of the spa, which are also decorated with sconces that resemble open flower petals. In the garden, where nature seems to have reclaimed its rights (much to our delight), we savour the dishes of three-star chef Dominique Crenn’s Le Golden Poppy restaurant. We then take a step up to the bar. Sophisticated and just as colourful as the restaurant itself, it boasts a magnificent terrace overlooking the Sacré-Coeur basilica. Ideal for a romantic weekend in the heart of the capital.
