Born in 1975 in Leytonstone, in London’s East End, David Beckham grew up in a modest household, but one deeply rooted in football. At 14, Beckham joined Manchester United’s academy. At 17, he made his debut in the first team. Very quickly, the young Londoner became the symbol of Sir Alex Ferguson’s emerging generation. A tireless worker, he impressed his teammates as much with his talent as with his discipline. His game intelligence, his precision right foot, and his natural charisma propelled him into the team’s core players. In 1999, he achieved the historic treble – Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League – a year that cemented him as a legend.
