Matisse. 1941-1954 – Grand Palais – Paris
“Matisse. 1941-1954” at the Grand Palais, Paris, explores the final years of Henri Matisse’s creation. Unveiled from 24 March to 26 July 2026, more than 230 works – paintings, drawings, books, textiles, stained glass and especially his famous cut-out gouaches – retrace how, between 1941 and 1954, the artist invented a singular plastic language. We rediscover his major series like Intérieurs de Vence, the album Jazz and iconic figures such as La Tristesse du roi and les Nus bleus, revealing his creative freedom and the intensity of his color until the end of his artistic life.
