The travel-focused platform Travel and Tour World has revealed the 50 most popular countries to visit in 2026. And the top spots are, to say the least, eclectic.
Travel and Tour World (TTW), a media platform dedicated to tourism and travel for professionals (with over 15 million readers worldwide), has published its ranking of the 50 tourist destinations for 2026. This list, covering six continents and more than 40 regions, highlights the countries that will shape global travel demand over the next 12 months. TTW based its ranking on reader engagement, editorial analysis, destination performance indicators, and global safety references.
“The ranking of the 50 best global tourist destinations for 2026 reflects the changing priorities of travelers worldwide: experience, safety, and authenticity are more important than ever. […] It is both a reflection of travelers’ expectations and a roadmap for the global tourism industry” explains Anup Kumar Keshan, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Travel and Tour World.
A varied Top 10
In first place, Japan stands out for its rich heritage, renowned cuisine, and blend of ancient traditions with futuristic innovations. From bustling Tokyo to traditional countryside and numerous islands, the country is also valued for its safety.
Canada takes the silver medal. With its vast landscapes, multicultural cities, and sustainable initiatives, the country attracts travelers seeking nature, friendliness, and serenity. Following closely is Ireland, known for its deeply rooted Celtic heritage. Castles, literary heritage, and welcoming culture make the country likely to see strong tourism in 2026.
