One year after creating the “Ecole des savoir-faire”, dedicated to Leather Goods, the luxury House is developing a new specialisation “cutting and stitching”.<\/h4>\n

The “\u00c9cole Herm\u00e8s des savoir-faire” (Herm\u00e8s apprenticeship training school)<\/strong>, which is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, already provides training in leather goods, which is recognised by a French national diploma (CAP Maroquinerie).\u00a0 It is now extending its scope thanks to the accreditation of the<\/strong> French Federation of Leather Goods<\/strong> to deliver the certificate of professional qualification in cutting and stitching.<\/strong> This new training course will begin in 2023 and will be aimed at 200 students each year, Herm\u00e8s said in a press release.<\/p>\n

As the saddler reminds us, his school is open “to all profiles who wish to become craftsmen and aims to enhance their manual talents”<\/em>. Herm\u00e8s also states that once they have obtained their diploma, the trained craftsmen will be able to join, among others, one of the group’s nineteen leather goods factories.<\/p>\n

The school currently has more than 450 apprentice craftsmen in various workshops<\/strong>: in Charleville-M\u00e9zi\u00e8res (Ardennes), Louviers (Eure) and Marthon (Charente).<\/p>\n

Herm\u00e8s is also constantly expanding its production facilities. The town of Loupes<\/strong>, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, will be the first town outside the Bordeaux metropolitan area to host a Herm\u00e8s leather goods factory by 2025.<\/strong> “Together with the Guyenne leather goods factory, it will constitute the Gironde centre of Herm\u00e8s, which will become the group’s eighth leather goods centre,”<\/em> says the group.<\/p>\n
