The three Champagne Houses of the EPI Group<\/strong> are strengthening their social and environmental commitments with this internationally recognized certification. For them, this is a crucial step in reinventing their practices towards a positive and goal-oriented business model. B Corp certification<\/a><\/strong> assesses the social and environmental impact of brands, with more than 300 questions on governance, workers, communities and environmental friendliness, among others.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n B Corp certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service: It evaluates the overall positive impact of the company that supports it and engages it in a process of continuous improvement.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n “We are very proud to join this community of pioneers who are driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good and transforming the world economy for the benefit of all individuals, communities and the planet.”<\/em>According to Damien Lafaurie<\/strong>, President and CEO of Piper-Heidsieck, Charles Heidsieck & Rare Champagnes<\/strong> and the EPI Group’s Wine and Champagne division, “We are honored to be the first Champagne producers to achieve Certified B Corporation status and are fully committed to the B Lab vision of working towards an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system. (…) “I am particularly proud of the tremendous work that the teams at Piper-Heidsieck, Charles Heidsieck & Rare Champagnes have done to achieve the profound transformation required for B Corp certification, and we will only get better in the future.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Concrete initiatives taken by the Champagne Houses to achieve B Corp certification include reducing carbon footprint in line with the Paris climate agreement<\/strong>, moving 100% of suppliers to Europe by 2030, or continuing sustainable environmental practices in the vineyards they own. Currently, the Houses do not use any herbicides, pesticides or chemicals<\/strong> and will support the VDC (Viticulture Durable en Champagne) conversion of all partner winemakers by 2025.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
