Yesterday, Yann Rivoallan was appointed head of the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear. This appointment follows a long series of appointments within fashion organizations, a sign of the revival of the sector which contributes to the French influence in the world and in Europe.<\/h4>\n

The past few weeks have seen the appointment of several new presidents of major French fashion institutions. Sidney Toledano<\/strong> has taken over as President of the IFM<\/a>, while Frank Boehly<\/strong> has taken over as head of France Industries Cr\u00e9atives<\/a>. But that’s not all.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In turn, the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise du Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Porter F\u00e9minin<\/strong>, at its general assembly held yesterday, Thursday, June 23, renewed its board of directors and elected some big names in fashion. Among them, Yann Rivoallan<\/strong> was named President of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise du Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Porter F\u00e9minin\u00a0and succeeds Pierre-Fran\u00e7ois Le Lou\u00ebt<\/strong>, who becomes Honorary President.<\/p>\n

Evolving in fashion and digital for 20 years, he is also a director of the Syndicat de Paris de la Mode F\u00e9minine since 2016. He has also just strengthened his presence within the Federation, since he had, in 2019, already integrated the Board of Directors of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise du Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Porter F\u00e9minin.<\/p>\n

Three key areas of focus for the Federation<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following his appointment, Yann Rivoallan revealed what are going to be the priorities<\/strong> of the Federation in serving companies. What are the three priorities? CSR, international and omnichannel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe will completely digitalize the Federation and its actions to accelerate relations with our members, for greater efficiency and responsiveness. We will bring together all the players in the sector via physical and virtual meetings and amplify cooperation. In the face of current and future changes, we will find all the solutions to accelerate responsible growth for our members<\/em>,\u201d he says, before adding that: \u201cWith the Federation team, we will focus on guiding fashion entrepreneurs while strengthening their ambitions and power<\/em>\u201d .<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In parallel, future changes within the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de la Haute-Couture et de la Mode<\/strong> are also expected. The only candidate for the position of President, the head of Chanel, Bruno Pavlovsky<\/strong>, seems to be strongly considered to take over from Ralph Toledano<\/strong> and Pascal Morand<\/strong>, Executive President. The answer will be given on July 1st<\/sup>, the date of the next General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Change and renewal of the European fashion industry<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

As Yann Rivoallan points out in his statement, current and future changes within the Federations and the industry as a whole<\/strong> are on the Presidents’ radar. As the major federations transform their leadership teams, a new organization has entered the picture: European Fashion Alliance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As its name suggests, 25 European fashion organizations<\/strong>, including the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise du Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Porter F\u00e9minin and the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, have come together to create the first transnational alliance at the European level. Its main objective? To improve their practices for the well-being of the planet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fashion industry is known to be the most polluting of all. According to several experts, 20% of industrial water pollution in the world is due to the treatment and dyeing of textiles and it is also the industry that uses the most electricity in the world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With this in mind, this new organization will aim to think about a more sustainable way of producing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Officially launched on June 21<\/strong>, the European Fashion Alliance \u201caims to be a strong common voice that advocates and accelerates the transition of European fashion to a more sustainable, innovative and inclusive creative future<\/em>\u201d and makes \u201cbetter protecting the planet and all its inhabitants<\/em>\u201d its watchword.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cFashion can and must lead the way. It is at the crossroads of economy and culture, the finest craftsmanship and the most advanced technologies, aesthetics and functionality, inclusion and diversity. Creativity is its breath and sustainability is now its unsurpassable horizon<\/em>,\u201d said Pascal Morand, Executive President of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although very recent, this organization has already planned its first meeting. This will be held from 18 to 21 October 2022<\/strong>, as part of Gran Canaria Swim Week<\/strong> of Moda C\u00e1lida<\/strong>, Spain.<\/p>\n
