In a press release, the IFM<\/strong> revealed that the board of directors had unanimously chosen Sidney Toledano<\/strong>, a director of the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode for over 20 years, to succeed Andr\u00e9 Beirnaert as president<\/strong>. On the same occasion, another big name in luxury, Anne Delli\u00e8re<\/strong>, Group Marketing & Strategic Plan Director of the Richemont Group, was appointed vice-president.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sidney Toledano, who is also Vice President and Director of the Comit\u00e9 Colbert<\/strong>, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and the Executive Committee of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de la Haute Couture et de la Mode<\/strong>, expressed his delight at his appointment: \u201cI have supported and accompanied the development of the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode for many years. I am keen to put my experience and my vision of fashion at the service of the younger generations. I am very attached to the transmission of knowledge and the central role of education. I am therefore proud and happy to have been entrusted with the task of helping the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode in its already well-developed project to become a world-class fashion school. Bringing together and developing talent from around the world in Paris, both in management and in creation and know-how, is essential for our industry\u201d <\/em>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Indeed, as he indicated above but also during the inauguration of the new Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, Sidney Toledano wants to make the IFM \u201ca fashion school of world reference\u201d <\/em><\/strong>. Xavier Romatet<\/strong>, Director General of the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode, is convinced that Toledano “will strengthen the influence of the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode and its international appeal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Created to stand up to Central Saint Martins (London), Parsons (New York), La Cambre (Brussels) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp), the school’s objective is to become “the best school of design”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe ambition is very strong. […] We are aiming for the best school of design, a field in which we had lost some ground. There is a very strong demand from foreign students, and also from scholarship holders<\/em>\u201d for the IFM, he emphasized.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Afterwards, Toledano also revealed the importance he places on the dialogue between designers, managers, workshops and production centers<\/strong>: \u201cI have always been passionate about transmission […] The key is to know how to combine creation and craftsmanship<\/em>,\u201d he reveals.
