{"id":84926,"date":"2022-06-01T17:48:56","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T15:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test2023.luxus-plus.com\/?p=84926"},"modified":"2022-06-01T23:31:28","modified_gmt":"2022-06-01T21:31:28","slug":"business-of-fashion-sustainable-index-2022-kering-leads-luxury-brands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luxus-plus.com\/en\/business-of-fashion-sustainable-index-2022-kering-leads-luxury-brands\/","title":{"rendered":"Business of Fashion Sustainable Index 2022 : Kering leads luxury brands <img class=paid src=\/paid.png>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row njt-role=&#8221;people-in-the-roles&#8221; njt-role-user-roles=&#8221;administrator,editor,author,armember&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>According to the Sustainable Index 2022, unveiled yesterday by Business of Fashion, the luxury group Kering remains at the top of the luxury brands in the world, thanks in particular to its social and environmental commitments.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order to establish its annual ranking, the <strong>Business of Fashion Sustainable Index 2022<\/strong> analyses publicly available information on companies in three categories: luxury, sportswear and consumer fashion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Sustainable development, a priority for Kering<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s leader, <strong>Kering<\/strong>, comes in second place in the ranking just after sportswear brand, <strong>Puma<\/strong>. However, Kering remains ahead of its competitors in the same sector.<strong> Levi Strauss, H&amp;M<\/strong> and <strong>Burberry<\/strong>, which appear for the first time in this ranking, complete the podium.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kering has placed sustainable development at the heart of its convictions in its strategy, and it is a source of inspiration and innovation for the group and its Houses. <strong>Fran\u00e7ois-Henri Pinault<\/strong>, <strong>CEO<\/strong> of the <strong>Kering Group<\/strong>, declared that <em>&#8220;luxury and sustainable development are one and the same&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Care, Collaborate, Create are the three major pillars that structure Kering&#8217;s sustainable development strategy for <strong>2025<\/strong>. The objective is to shape the luxury of tomorrow by respecting people and preserving natural resources through transparency, sharing and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kering has also developed an innovative tool to quantify the environmental impacts of its activities : the<strong> EP&amp;L<\/strong> (Environmental Profit &amp; Loss). These commitments are now paying off for the French group.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Fashion, an industry lagging behind<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to the Business of Fashion report, the fashion industry is falling behind on its social and environmental commitments. It is at risk of not meeting the major commitments of the <strong>Paris Agreement<\/strong> and the <strong>17 UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> (<strong>SDGs<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;There are a few frontrunners who are making small steps forward, but overall the industry is extremely underperforming,&#8221;<\/em><strong> Sarah Kent<\/strong>, who covers sustainability at<strong> Business of Fashion,<\/strong> commented to Reuters. <em>&#8220;We don&#8217;t see evidence of the deep transformations the sector would need over the next eight years to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement&#8221;<\/em> and the UN&#8217;s 2030 SDGs, she says.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, the main objective of the Paris Agreement is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union by at least <strong>40%<\/strong> by<strong> 2030<\/strong> compared to<strong> 1990<\/strong> levels. The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> in <strong>2015<\/strong>.
