LVMH is taking another step toward sustainability and lowering its carbon footprint<\/strong> by starting a project with Origin Materials<\/strong>, which is the world’s first carbon-negative materials company. The company’s mission for the past 10 years? To enable companies to transition to sustainable materials.<\/strong> As part of this strategic partnership, LVMH has signed a multi-year capacity reservation agreement with Origin Materials for the purchase of low-carbon sustainable PET for use in fragrance and cosmetics packaging.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n PET produced using Origin Materials’ technology is identical in function to petroleum-based PET,<\/strong> but has a significantly lower carbon footprint because it is derived from sustainable wood residues that capture carbon. It is just as recyclable as fossil-based PET in the existing infrastructure, a process that is critical to creating a circular economy with a significantly reduced carbon footprint.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Origin Materials plans to continue working with LVMH Beauty on sustainable packaging solutions for its entire family of renowned luxury brands,<\/strong> helping to reduce the carbon impact of products while maintaining the high-end standard their customers expect.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n “At LVMH, with our Life 360 program, we have made the decision that our packaging will not contain plastic from virgin fossil resources in the near future.
