Accor<\/strong>, the world’s leading hospitality company, is reviewing its 2021 activities and unveiling its growth prospects for 2022 and beyond : the Group opened a total of 288 hotels and resorts during the year, for 41,000 rooms<\/strong>. These figures bring Accor’s global network to more than 5,300 hotels and 778,000 rooms, with more than 1,200 hotels and 214,000 additional rooms in the pipeline. The net growth rate is 3% in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In 2021, performance was particularly strong in Europe, China and the Middle East. Europe was the largest market for Accor, with 153 new hotels signed<\/strong>, representing 20% growth over 2020. China<\/strong> ranked second in terms of signings, showing the highest percentage growth (+39% vs. 2020), while the India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey<\/strong> region strengthened its strategic positions over the year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “In 2021, we continued to strengthen our leadership in regions where we have historically dominated the competition, while creating strong momentum in key markets such as North America and China<\/em>,” comments Agn\u00e8s Roquefort<\/strong>, Managing Director in charge of development.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Among the new developments underway are the first two international destinations under the Orient Express<\/strong> banner, announced in 2021, with the signing of the Orient Express Grand Hotel de la Minerve (Rome, Italy) and the Orient Express Diriyah Gate<\/strong> (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). The group also launched, in partnership with Arsenale S.p.A., the Orient Express La Dolce Vita<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By the end of 2022 and early 2023, Accor’s development and operations teams will open new flagship addresses<\/strong> within the group’s portfolio of brands, including Raffles London at The OWO, Raffles & Fairmont Doha, Sofitel Shanghai North Bund and many others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
