{"id":80250,"date":"2022-03-14T12:45:33","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T11:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test2023.luxus-plus.com\/?p=80250"},"modified":"2022-03-14T12:44:37","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T11:44:37","slug":"tesla-dominates-the-u-s-luxury-market-ahead-of-german-car-brands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luxus-plus.com\/en\/tesla-dominates-the-u-s-luxury-market-ahead-of-german-car-brands\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla dominates the U.S. luxury market, ahead of German car brands"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Tesla is no longer an outsider in the electric vehicle market and is positioning itself ahead of its competitors, including established German luxury car manufacturers.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., in the first two months of 2022, <strong>Tesla<\/strong> has managed to capture more market share in the premium segment than some of its decades-old established German competitors.\u00a0Looking at vehicle registrations for January alone, <strong><em>Automotive News<\/em><\/strong> reveals, via <strong>Experian<\/strong> data, that <strong>Tesla has started 2022 ahead of last year&#8217;s segment leader, BMW<\/strong>. In fact, <strong>its registrations increased by 49 percent, with 37,162 vehicles counted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Experian adds that <strong>BMW<\/strong>&#8216;s registrations for February were up 8.2 percent, with 30,563 units registered. <strong>Lexus<\/strong> followed suit in the premium sphere with a 5.5 percent increase to 24,843 registered units. But for <strong>Mercedes-Benz<\/strong>, there was a drastic drop of 20% to 22,022 registrations in January. In 2021, BMW was the best-selling brand with 347,453 units and Tesla ended the year with 342,412 registered cars. <strong>A rather close result between the two competitors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Tesla Model Y was the most popular model in the range with 18,549 registered units<\/strong> and the Model 3 followed closely behind with 13,604 registered units. The only cars able to compete with the Tesla Model S and X cars were the <strong>Ford Mustang Mach-E<\/strong> with 2,781 registrations, the<strong> Nissan Leaf<\/strong> with 1,479 and the new <strong>Hyundai Ioniq 5<\/strong> with 1,253.
