The CEO of LVMH and the French Minister of Economy visited the Loir-et-Cher region in France on Tuesday for the inauguration of two Louis Vuitton manufactures.<\/h4>\n

Since 2018, LVMH<\/strong> has already invested in the Loir-et-Cher<\/strong> region by setting up a first site in the Rochambeau district, and a second in the commune of Az\u00e9, northwest of Vend\u00f4me<\/strong>. The renovated building is a former convent, built on the cloister of the Trinity Abbey<\/strong> and whose facade is a listed historic monument<\/strong>. “The City of Vend\u00f4me would never have been able to maintain this building. This is a chance, an opportunity, a partnership with LVMH<\/em>“, says Pascal Brindeau<\/strong>, MP and former mayor of the town, is delighted.<\/p>\n

In total, no less than 150 employees work on these two sites<\/strong>, and 400 in the future, specialized in the manufacture of Louis Vuitton luxury bags.<\/strong> The visit began with the Oratoire workshop in Az\u00e9<\/strong>. Part of the site is dedicated to the storage of raw materials (leather, spools of thread and other accessories). In the rest of the space, workstations have been set up with sewing machines, where the leather workers are busy designing bags.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Bruno Le Maire<\/strong> announced his desire to accelerate “the industrial reconquest that we have begun to regain.<\/em>” Bernard Arnault<\/strong>, for his part, emphasized the know-how: “Our craftswomen often make products that are on the waiting list. (…) These old leather trades that contributed to the prosperity of Vend\u00f4me before disappearing, we have, with Louis Vuitton, the ambition to revive them.<\/em>”<\/p>\n
