Rolls-Royce<\/strong> CEO Torsten M\u00fcller-\u00d6tv\u00f6s<\/strong> said the automaker sold 5,586 vehicles to customers in more than 50 countries, its all-time record in its 117-year history<\/strong>. Sales reached all-time highs in most regions, including China and the Americas.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sales of high-end and luxury cars increased more broadly in key global markets such as China and the U.S., as pandemic-related travel restrictions left affluent consumers with more disposable income for other expenses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Covid has forced many people to bury themselves, to stop traveling, and because of this, there is quite a bit of accumulated wealth that is spent on luxury goods,<\/em>” explained M\u00fcller-\u00d6tv\u00f6s “We have benefited from this development.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that the automaker’s British plant in Goodwood<\/strong> was operating at near maximum capacity and that its order books were full well into the third quarter of 2022. All Rolls-Royce models have performed extremely strongly with growth driven primarily by the Ghost<\/em><\/strong>, which has seen further increases in demand.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “2021 was a phenomenal year for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. We delivered more cars than ever before in the brand’s 117-year history to our customers around the world, with unprecedented demand for all products in every international market. (…) Building on this year’s success, we will continue to evolve as a true luxury brand, beyond the boundaries of car manufacturing,<\/em>” adds M\u00fcller-\u00d6tv\u00f6s.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Preparations are underway for the brand’s all-electric future<\/strong>, with the announcement of its first all-electric powered car, Spectre<\/em><\/strong>, due for delivery in 2023. Rolls-Royce also continues to invest in its manufacturing and future talent, with a record 37 new apprentices joining the company in September 2022.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
