The world’s wealthiest people have broken all records in 2021. The bar has been raised: to join the Bloomberg ranking of the world’s richest people, you must have a fortune of at least $100 billion.<\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

In 2021<\/strong>, $100 billion<\/strong> in wealth was the minimum to make it into the top 10 of the world’s wealthiest people. By comparison, in 2019<\/strong>, only the world’s largest fortune, that of billionaire and Amazon<\/strong> founder Jeff Bezos<\/strong>, reached a fortune of $100 billion.<\/p>\n

The year 2021 has benefited the biggest billionaires on the planet. Today in the rankings, not one but ten billionaires have now reached a wealth exceeding $100 billion. In 2021, the wealthiest people have added a combined $402 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this 2021 edition, Space X CEO<\/strong> and Tesla Managing Director Elon Musk<\/strong> takes the top spot in this ranking and can boast of being the world’s largest fortune. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires<\/strong> ranking, Elon Musk’s wealth increased by 121 billion dollars<\/strong> between the end of 2020 and the end of 2021<\/strong>. His fortune is now $277 billion<\/strong> compared to $156 billion<\/strong> last year. It should be noted that Elon Musk’s wealth has seen an exceptional jump since at the end of 2019<\/strong>, his fortune stood at 16 billion dollars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos<\/strong> takes second place with an estimated fortune of $195 billion<\/strong>. Compared to last year, his fortune has only increased by five billion dollars<\/strong>. After stepping down as CEO of Amazon on 5 July<\/strong>, Jeff Bezos wants to devote himself to new projects such as the conquest of space and ecology.<\/p>\n

In third place, we find the unavoidable CEO<\/strong> of the world’s leading luxury group LVMH, Bernard Arnault<\/strong>. Bernard Arnault is slowly approaching Jeff Bezos’ fortune, with an estimated $176 billion<\/strong> and an increase of $61 billion<\/strong> over last year. It should be remembered that at the beginning of 2021, LVMH had finalised the process of acquiring an iconic jewellery house, Tiffany & Co<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The ranking is then completed by Bill Gates<\/strong> with 139 billion dollars (up 7 billion), Larry Page<\/strong> in 5th position (130 billion dollars, up 47 billion), followed by Mark Zuckerberg<\/strong> with a fortune of 128 billion dollars (+ 24 billion). Sergey Brin<\/strong> ($125 billion), Steve Ballmer ($122 billion), Larry Ellison<\/strong> ($109 billion) and Warren Buffett<\/strong> (also $109 billion) are at the bottom of the list.<\/p>\n
