The Mo\u00ebt & Chandon champagne house has announced the launch of its “Natura Nostra” programme, in favour of biodiversity. By 2027, the leading champagne producer aims to create 100 km of ecological corridors.<\/h4>\n

The “Natura Nostra”<\/strong> programme aims to protect local fauna and flora, with “the creation of 100 km of ecological corridors and the deployment of strong initiatives in favour of living soil”<\/em>, explains Berta de Pablos-Barbier, president of Mo\u00ebt & Chandon<\/strong> in a press release.<\/p>\n

For the first year of this five-year programme, Mo\u00ebt & Chandon<\/strong> will start with the creation of 10 km of ecological corridors<\/strong>, to reach 100 km of corridors<\/strong> by 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On November 25<\/strong>, Mo\u00ebt & Chandon employees planted 1,743 trees<\/strong> of several varieties on the Fort Chabrol<\/strong> site in \u00c9pernay<\/strong> (field maple, linden, elm, apple and elder). This number is significant for the company, since it is the founding date of Mo\u00ebt & Chandon. The objective of these plantations is to provide a better ecosystem, particularly for animal species, thanks to food reservoirs for all.<\/p>\n

While the company has just announced the launch of its new program in favor of the ecological transition, Mo\u00ebt & Chandon had previously worked to go green. Indeed, in 2020<\/strong>, Mo\u00ebt & Chandon stopped using herbicides<\/strong> in its 1,200 hectare<\/strong> Champagne vineyard.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Champagne brand would also inaugurate a 20 million euro<\/strong> research centre dedicated to vines and wine, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of its practices and adapting to climate change.<\/p>\n
