The Thanksgiving vacation week gave New York’s high-end real estate agents a lot to do.<\/h4>\n

Last week, no fewer than 37 contracts<\/strong> were signed for homes worth at least $4 million in New York City<\/strong>. This is the highest number of deals signed during Thanksgiving<\/strong> week since 2006, when Olshan Realty<\/strong> began tracking luxury real estate deals in Manhattan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over the past 10 years, the average number of deals signed during Thanksgiving was 12. “We’re talking about a Thanksgiving gorge (…) that’s it !<\/em>” said Donna Olshan<\/strong>, the report’s author.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The median asking price for the 37 homes was $5.95 million<\/strong>. Almost all of the transactions were for condos; only three were for co-ops and one for a townhouse.<\/p>\n

The most expensive was a duplex in the Edward J. Minskoff Equities<\/strong> project at 17 Jane Street in the West Village. The last asking price for this unit was $31.9 million. The second-highest asking price among the 37 deals was $28 million for an 11-room, four-bedroom prewar co-op on the fourth floor of the luxury building at 960 Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
