As COP26<\/strong> takes place in Glasgow<\/strong>, many international leather industry<\/strong> players are calling on participants to take a close look at the important role that sustainable materials<\/strong>, including leather, play in creating a sustainable world<\/strong> that respects the environment and resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the face of climate change<\/strong>, the luxury industry<\/strong>, and in particular the leather sector<\/strong>, is organizing itself to take the path of an increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly model<\/strong>. In this sense, the CNC<\/strong> and several other leather actors are proposing various solutions to the COP26<\/strong> participants.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The CNC<\/strong> calls on the conference participants to take into account the industry’s capacity to move towards a more sustainable model<\/strong> to fight climate change.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Several lines of thought are proposed. On the one hand, the recognition of the circular nature of organic materials<\/strong> and their contribution to reducing the climate impact of finished products. Secondly, encouraging the use of natural materials<\/strong> and reducing unnecessary dependence on petrochemical materials<\/strong>. Secondly, support for life cycle assessment methods that take into account the environmental impact<\/strong> of petrochemical-based materials. Finally, the CNC<\/strong> also proposes the promotion of slow fashion<\/strong> and sustainable products<\/strong>, whose use is not unique and which can be repaired, reused and refurbished for years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n These proposals come at a time when existing production models are being questioned. The luxury goods<\/strong> and leather industries<\/strong> remain polluting sectors, whether it be the extraction of the necessary materials, manufacturing or transport. The COP26, or Conference Of the Parties, is currently taking place in the Scottish city of Glasgow. Bringing together almost all of the world’s governments as well as numerous participants from all walks of life, it aims to negotiate actions to fight global warming. The CNC, or Conseil National du Cuir, took the opportunity to call for a more sustainable world.<\/h4>\n
