More than a hundred major brands registered to exhibit, including <strong>Chanel<\/strong>, <strong>L&#8217;Or\u00e9al<\/strong> and <strong>Lacoste<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But this event is also an opportunity for the <strong>travel retail sector<\/strong> to discuss, share, and therefore better prepare to envisage the future. For the arrival of <strong>Covid<\/strong> has caused <strong>many losses<\/strong> in a sector where growth was assured, guaranteed by all observers, with a value approaching 5% per year for the next fifty years. Overnight, the disappearance of tourists has taken its toll, and although they are increasingly coming back, the sector is still struggling.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> TFWA Exhibition &amp; Conference 2021<\/strong> was therefore an opportunity to take stock of the situation as well as the solutions for rebounding. However, most of the major travel retail brands did not wait for this event to <strong>adapt<\/strong>. Many have turned to click &amp; collect and <strong>online sales<\/strong>. Travellers could see online where the products they wanted were available. <strong>Dufry<\/strong>, <strong>Heinemann<\/strong> and <strong>Lagard\u00e8re<\/strong>, for example, made this choice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Similarly,<strong> travel shops<\/strong> are increasingly relying on <strong>technology<\/strong> to draw customers into the shop and keep them engaged throughout their journey, while providing a seamless shopping experience. Retailers and vendors are increasingly forced to rely on <strong>digital<\/strong> and customer <strong>loyalty systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The emergence of the <strong>African<\/strong> <strong>market<\/strong> is also expected to drive the sector towards new developments.
