{"id":72309,"date":"2021-11-02T13:09:27","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T12:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test2023.luxus-plus.com\/?p=72309"},"modified":"2021-11-02T13:09:27","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T12:09:27","slug":"qatar-and-rolls-royce-to-invest-billions-of-pounds-in-green-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luxus-plus.com\/en\/qatar-and-rolls-royce-to-invest-billions-of-pounds-in-green-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Qatar and Rolls-Royce to invest billions of pounds in green technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Qatar and Rolls-Royce are to join forces in a multi-billion pound project to develop and invest in green technology start-ups in the UK and the Gulf state.<\/h4>\n<h4><!--more--><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement, <strong>Qatar<\/strong> and carmaker <strong>Rolls-Royce<\/strong> announced that their <strong>partnership<\/strong> aims to create at least five fast-growing g<strong>reen technology companies<\/strong> by 2030, and as many as 20 by 2040. These new companies will be supported by the <strong>opening<\/strong> of two <strong>science and engineering campuses.<\/strong> Funded by <strong>Doha<\/strong>, one of these campuses will be built in the north of England and the other in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The two partners also said the campuses would be testing grounds for start-ups <strong>to test and scale up<\/strong> new technologies that will help combat<strong> global warming<\/strong>. The exact locations or design of these campuses have not yet been decided, but more information is expected later in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes as world leaders begin <strong>COP26<\/strong>, the summit to combat <strong>climate change,<\/strong> in <strong>Glasgow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to create an<strong> investment pool<\/strong> to fund <strong>research<\/strong> and <strong>development<\/strong>, and to provide venture <strong>capital investment<\/strong> to create and develop businesses. <strong>Rolls-Royce<\/strong> is expected to provide technical and manufacturing assistance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both partners said they hope to <strong>attract co-investors<\/strong> and create<strong> investment opportunities<\/strong> for Qatari companies and investors.
