Tesla multiplies by 4<\/h2>\n

The shortage of electronic chips<\/strong> that is affecting the entire global automotive sector<\/strong> could have led to fears of difficulties for Tesla<\/strong>. But this was not the case, and instead Elon Musk’s<\/strong> carmaker managed to increase<\/strong> production and quadruple<\/strong> its net profit in the third quarter to 1.6 billion dollars, on the back of a 57% increase in turnover.<\/p>\n

In the same period, the company announced that it had delivered a record<\/strong> 241,300 vehicles.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Herm\u00e8s is not afraid of the pandemic<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

As for Herm\u00e8s<\/strong>, the bag maker’s sales rose<\/strong> 31% in the third quarter, beating market expectations<\/strong> as the pace of rebound from the coronavirus pandemic slowed from the previous quarter.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Analysts had expected the French luxury goods group’s revenues to rise by 21% in the third quarter.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The brand’s revenues at the end of the quarter were 2.37 billion euros, 40% higher than before the pandemic, the company said this Thursday.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Luxury goods companies have thus recovered<\/strong> strongly<\/strong> from the sting of the pandemic, sustained by strong demand<\/strong> as blockades loosen around the world and consumers<\/strong> resume socialising.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, purchases by travellers, a key source of revenue for the luxury sector<\/strong>, remain stalled, and a resurgence<\/strong> of Covid-19 cases in Asia over the summer has weighed<\/strong> on the growth of some major luxury groups.<\/p>\n
