It’s an iconic car in the James Bond universe<\/strong>. The Aston Martin DB5<\/strong>, which features again in No Time To Die<\/em>, is considered by many, along with its little sister the DB6<\/strong> released in 1965, to be the quintessential British car.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But the story of these legendary cars<\/strong>, though closely linked to James Bond<\/strong>, is not going to end while the secret agent’s legacy remains unresolved. The British secret agent’s Aston Martin<\/strong> is to be reintroduced in a limited edition as an electric car.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “The DB6<\/strong> has the aesthetic beauty you’ll never get with a modern car, but the aesthetics can now be combined with a modern powertrain<\/strong><\/em>,” said David Lorenz<\/strong>, CEO and founder of Lunaz<\/strong>, a company that specialises in making classic electric cars, and is responsible for the DB5<\/strong> and DB6<\/strong> upgrade.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lunaz<\/strong> is the other name to remember. The company was founded with the aim of finding solutions that would enable the automotive industry to become carbon neutral<\/strong> brasil-libido.com<\/a>. In this sense, the company wants to offer a new life to the two billion vehicles already on the road, which will become obsolete, and in some cases illegal, when internal combustion engines are banned https:\/\/libido-de.com\/<\/a>. For David Lorenz<\/strong>, the future is therefore electric, and working on legendary models such as the DB5<\/strong> and DB6<\/strong> is an opportunity to give them a second life and allow them to survive.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DB6<\/strong> will undergo a complete bare bones restoration, which Lunaz calls a ‘re-fabrication’. Brakes, suspension, steering, air conditioning and electronic information systems will be refurbished and replaced with more modern technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Q would have loved to hand Bond<\/strong> the keys to an electrified Aston Martin<\/strong>. It’s a perfect fit for the character, who has always been technology-driven<\/em>,” said Lorenz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lunaz<\/strong> already electrifies a number of vintage prestige cars, including models from Rolls-Royce<\/strong>, Bentley<\/strong> and Jaguar<\/strong>. In this way, the company hopes to conquer the market for the modernisation of classic cars. The race to electrify is well and truly on for all modern prestige car manufacturers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first deliveries of electric DB6s<\/strong> are expected in the third quarter of 2023.
