Mercedes-Benz<\/strong> sold 8 958 luxury cars in India<\/strong> between January and September 2021, compared to 5 007 vehicles sold in the same period in 2020, which were down on 2019 due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But it is the sales of the third quarter<\/strong> that show the strongest increase. They have almost doubled compared<\/strong> to the same period last year. The brand claims that these increases are primarily due to an increase in demand for limousine<\/strong> models, including the A-Class<\/strong>, GLA<\/strong> and GLS<\/strong>. As a result, the waiting time for one of these models now varies between one and eight months depending on location.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Most importantly, Mercedes-Benz<\/strong> dominates the luxury car market in India. The country’s growth and the emergence of a certain class that is increasingly wealthy and numerous is helping a lot. In this market, the brand’s growth and sales have outstripped that of its rival BMW<\/strong>, which in turn has announced a 45% increase in year-to-date sales over the previous year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “We have built up a strong order book for most of our new and existing products, and we are working hard to get these cars to customers on time. Similarly, the launch of a number of models is fuelling consumer interest.
