Even in the automotive<\/strong> industry, luxury has ambitions to go green. Swedish carmaker Volvo<\/strong> has revealed its ambitions for the future of its range of luxury electric vehicles<\/strong>, which will now be leather-free<\/strong>, starting with their new C40 Recharge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nevertheless, the brand does not intend to cut back on the quality and comfort of its vehicles. Thus, consumers will have several options at their disposal: Volvo<\/strong> offers high-quality alternatives from recycled resources<\/strong>, such as wool blends or a new interior material made of recycled corks from the wine industry and Swedish and Finnish forestry.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Volvo<\/strong>‘s announcements were made in conjunction with the release of a report titled “The Rise of Conscious Design,” by trend forecasting firm The Future Laboratory<\/strong>. The report highlights the fact that a brand’s environmental policies are now a major factor<\/strong> in consumers’ choice to buy luxury goods.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Volvo<\/strong>‘s decision is also driven by some concern about the negative environmental impacts of cattle farming, including deforestation.
