Engineer Thomas Laudenbach<\/strong>, born in Santiago, Chile, takes over the reins of Porsche Motorsport<\/strong>. In 1998, he joined Porsche AG as head of powertrain development and was involved in race and sports car projects such as the 918 Spyder<\/strong> and the 911 GT3 Cup<\/strong> until 2013. He was also the main developer of the 3.4-liter direct injection V8 engine for the Porsche RS Spyder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He succeeds Fritz Enzinger<\/strong>, who arrived at Porsche in 2011, to head up its LMP1 project. In 2019, Enzinger took over full responsibility for Porsche Motorsport, having achieved three overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans<\/strong> as well as a total of six world championship titles. Porsche also took on the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and won the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC) North American titles in the GTLM class with the 911 RSR.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “I am delighted with the trust placed in me and excited about the tasks ahead<\/em>,” comments Thomas Laudenbach<\/strong>. “The big goal is to build on the great successes that were achieved under Fritz Enzinger’s leadership.
