Herm\u00e8s has just inaugurated its new Maison at 166 New Bond Street in London. Housed in a complex of six historic buildings combined into a single space spanning nearly 2,000 m\u00b2, this location has become one of the group\u2019s largest retail outlets worldwide. With its 55 rooms spread across five levels, it exemplifies Herm\u00e8s\u2019 strategy of offering an immersive experience centered on all of its craft specialties.<\/h4>\n

An iconic location in the heart of Mayfair<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After several years of construction, Herm\u00e8s has opened the doors to its new London boutique at 166 New Bond Street. The project occupies six listed Georgian townhouses<\/strong>, built starting in 1769 and gradually joined together to form a single complex. The building was long associated with the British firm Asprey before being acquired by Herm\u00e8s in 2009 for approximately 73 million pounds.<\/p>\n

Located in the Mayfair neighborhood, New Bond Street<\/strong> remains one of the most coveted thoroughfares in the global luxury world, alongside the major shopping avenues of Paris, New York, and Tokyo. This opening confirms London\u2019s strategic importance to the French fashion house despite a sometimes uncertain economic climate.<\/p>\n

A large-scale architectural and artistic project<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The project also builds on pre-existing architectural elements designed by Foster + Partners<\/strong>. The impressive spiral staircase designed by Norman Foster\u2019s firm during a previous renovation of the building has been preserved and extended to the upper levels, becoming one of the centerpieces of the visitor experience conceived by RDAI and its director, Denis Montel<\/strong>. This dialogue between contemporary interventions and historical heritage contributes to the unique identity of this new Maison.<\/p>\n
