The Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG) will protect scientists from the elements as they explore the Moon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To this end, the suit incorporates a combination of high-tech materials using advanced 3D modeling techniques<\/strong> that ensure cooling and ventilation while enhancing comfort during extravehicular activities that can last up to eight hours.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Specifically, the ventilation system in this equipment operates via a network of tubes that delivers oxygen to the astronaut\u2019s face while continuously removing carbon dioxide<\/strong>. The gas is then sent to a CO\u2082 filter, which allows the air to be refreshed. \u201cIt manages the astronauts\u2019 thermal environment and supports their breathing, all while they push the limits of their bodies,\u201d said Russell Ralston, vice president of development at Axiom Space.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The unveiling of this new garment comes more than a year after Prada and Axiom Space unveiled the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU)<\/strong> suit at the International Astronautical Congress held in Milan in October 2024.
