A new chapter for Alexander McQueen. The Kering Group, owner of Alexander McQueen, announced<\/b>\u00a0that it has appointed Gianfranco D\u2019Attis as CEO<\/b>. He will assume his new role on June 3 from London, where the brand\u2019s headquarters are located.<\/p>\n

The executive, who will report to Luca de Meo, CEO of Kering, succeeds Gianfilippo Testa. After four years at the helm of the British label<\/a>, this former LVMH executive has indeed \u201cdecided to leave the group by the end of the year\u201d<\/b>, according to the luxury giant, which thanked him for \u201chis commitment and contributions over the past few years.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thus, Gianfranco D\u2019Attis will take the reins with the aim of bringing \u201csolid expertise in brand development<\/b>, distribution network excellence, and customer relations in key markets,\u201d according to Kering\u2019s press release. Before joining the group, the businessman served as CEO at Prada<\/a>. Hired in early 2022 for the same reasons as at Alexander McQueen, he left his position prematurely following \u201cstrategic disagreements,\u201d<\/b> according to WWD and AFP.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cGianfranco D\u2019Attis has enhanced the brand\u2019s appeal and driven its growth through a more disciplined and customer-centric approach,\u201d said Fran\u00e7ois-Henri Pinault\u2019s group. Luca de Meo also said he was \u201cvery pleased\u201d<\/b> to welcome this former executive from Christian Dior Couture Americas and Jaeger-LeCoultre. According to the CEO, \u201chis ability to refine the brand\u2019s identity while ensuring disciplined execution will be essential to refocus Alexander McQueen and unlock its full potential.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Indeed, his appointment comes amid a difficult period for the British fashion house<\/b>. After a 60% drop in revenue over the past three years, the brand also announced last January a restructuring plan aimed at cutting one-third of its workforce in Italy<\/a>, representing approximately sixty of the 180 employees. In October 2025, another 55 London-based employees were also at risk.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gianfranco d\u2019Attis\u2019s roadmap is therefore clear: to support Alexander McQueen in its \u201cnew phase dedicated to strengthening its distinctive positioning\u201d<\/b>. This strategy will therefore involve reducing the number of collections, adjusting the distribution network, and simplifying the company\u2019s overall organization.
