Alessio Lillocci will now lead the modernization of this nearly century-old sartorial icon.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA new chapter in the evolution\u201d of <b>Canali<\/b>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The luxury men\u2019s ready-to-wear brand<\/b>, owned by the eponymous family, has secured a creative director whose expertise will be invaluable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Formerly of Brunello Cucinelli and Prada<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Alessio Lillocci<\/b>\u2014that is his name\u2014spent 21 years, from late 2002 to mid-2023, in the styling department (before being appointed head of the Men\u2019s division) at <b>Brunello Cucinelli,<\/b> another Italian family-owned group (50% family-owned), though publicly traded since 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Introduced to the world of fashion at a young age in his mother\u2019s sewing workshop, Alessio Lillocci had a brief stint at <b>Prada<\/b> as director of men\u2019s ready-to-wear from February to August 2024, before beginning to collaborate a year later as a freelancer at Canali. This earned him enough recognition to now take the helm of the design department there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before the appointment of <b>Alessio Lillocci, the first to hold this position, Canali\u2019s style was managed internally<\/b> by the brand\u2019s in-house creative and product team. This team will support the newcomer \u201cto shape a new yet coherent vision of Canali\u2019s identity,\u201d stated <b>Stefano Canali, CEO of Canali.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Key assets for the brand\u2019s future<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Alessio,\u201d Stefano Canali added, noting that <b>\u201chis experience, sensibility, and deep knowledge of the world of men\u2019s fashion<\/b> will be key assets for the brand\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In his new role, Alessio Lillocci is responsible for \u201censuring the preservation and strengthening of the brand\u2019s identity, maintaining stylistic and qualitative consistency between the creative vision, the product, and Canali\u2019s DNA throughout the development of the collections,\u201d the luxury house further explained.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoining Canali is a great honor for me,\u201d said <b>Alessio Lillocci. \u201cIt is a brand that fully embodies Italian sartorial excellence and expertise in men\u2019s fashion<\/b>, where product culture, quality, and attention to detail are concrete, everyday pillars. All the ingredients are in place to build an authentic and coherent creative journey, capable of evolving while respecting the brand\u2019s DNA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>A global benchmark in classic men\u2019s luxury<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Founded in 1934 by Giovanni Canali, a textile magnate, and his brother Giacomo, a tailor,<\/b> Canali was the first Italian tailor to introduce mechanized cutting machines as early as the 1970s. The House still oversees its own<b> \u201cMade in Italy\u201d production, with five in-house factories<\/b> on the peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Still <b>a global benchmark for classic men\u2019s luxury, particularly in Asia and the Middle East, <\/b>Canali has begun to <b>modernize its silhouettes<\/b>\u2014especially since the pandemic\u2014to appeal to a younger clientele, while maintaining its traditional sartorial (bespoke tailoring) image.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to <b>LinkedIn<\/b>, Canali currently employs \u201c<b>more than 1,800 people<\/b>,\u201d whether in its Italian factories or in its <b>approximately 250 boutiques worldwide<\/b> (Europe, China, the United States, India, Japan, the Middle East, Australia\u2026).
