For while \u201cmajor jewelry auctions have been a tradition in Geneva since\u201d as early as \u201cthe late 1960s,\u201d GemGen\u00e8ve explains that it has \u201ctruly breathed new life into the market since 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n

Open to both professionals and the general public, the event allows all experts and enthusiasts to participate in arich program \u201cof meetings, exchanges, and sales,\u201d<\/b> in an atmosphere that is, however, deliberately intimate and a stark contrast to the industry\u2019s major trade shows.<\/p>\n

At the last edition in 2025<\/b>, GemGen\u00e8ve, which \u201chas gradually established itself on the calendar of professionals and collectors worldwide,\u201d set a record with 4,970 visitors<\/b>. And for this tenth edition, the show is once again positioning itself to attract numerous participants to Hall 2 at Palexpo<\/b>.<\/p>\n

More than 240 major players in the world of jewelry<\/b>\u2014internationally renowned dealers, family-run houses, creators of ultra-exclusive pieces and young designers, cultural partners, schools and training institutes, gemmology laboratories, and specialized bookstores\u2014are thus announced as exhibitors\u2026<\/p>\n

Among them, 199 dealers from 17 different countries<\/b> will offer an audience of connoisseurs and discerning enthusiasts \u201cthe opportunity to discover exceptional gems, heritage jewelry, vintage pieces, and contemporary creations.\u201d<\/p>\n

This unique event also succeeds in combining the transmission of heritage and craftsmanship, the discovery of emerging talent, with an intensive cultural and educational program, as well as conferences and roundtables.<\/p>\n

The main exhibition<\/b>, whose theme this year is \u201cShaping Matter, Enhancing Beauty<\/b>,\u201d will showcase over a hundred gemstones (jade, agate, coral, amber\u2026)<\/b> and the transformation of raw materials<\/b> into High Jewelry pieces.<\/p>\n

Experiential spaces and workshops will also allow visitors to actively immerse themselves in the world of jewelry.<\/p>\n

On May 9<\/b>, the topics covered will be \u201cornamental gemstones\u201d<\/b> (the rise of \u201cnon-traditional\u201d stones, new aesthetics in jewelry), \u201cJade: A Bridge Between Cultures\u201d<\/b> (from China to Western museums via the Mughal Empire, the historical circulation of objects), and \u201cPrivate Collection Management\u201d<\/b> (legal and cultural issues).<\/p>\n

On May 10<\/b>, the GemGen\u00e8ve Awards Ceremony<\/b> will take place. Carefully prepared drawings, gouaches, and sketches can all serve as the basis for creating a piece of jewelry and reflect the clients\u2019 desires as much as the designer\u2019s tastes and current trends. The initial sketch comes to life thanks to the artisans, the materials, the techniques, and the expertise they bring to bear.
