Yesterday, Sup de Luxe set Paris alight. But while trash cans burned on Place de la Concorde, the school celebrated its 30th anniversary not far away, on Cour de Rome, in the vast hall of the Compagnie 1837. The atmosphere was just as fiery, but much more peaceful. For the occasion, the Sup de Luxe Alumni Association brought together around 180 people for a charity gala evening worthy of the event: luxury industry players, alumni, school leaders, as well as personalities such as Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister, and Fran\u00e7oise de Panafieu, former Minister of Tourism and advisor to Paris.<\/p>\n

The initiators of this wonderful adventure, the charismatic and enterprising Alain-Dominique Perrin and Michel Guten, were of course also there. And the latter was in very good spirits, despite being almost 90 years old.<\/p>\n

The President and CEO of Cartier International<\/b> had the pioneering idea in 1990 to create \u201cthe first training program in the luxury industry, by and for professionals\u201d<\/b>. The idea has since been imitated by many other players, schools, and universities. But Sup de Luxe has managed to stay well ahead of the curve. Since its creation (in 2015)<\/b>, its Bachelor’s degree has been ranked No. 1 by Eduniversal in the category of Bachelor’s and Licentiate degrees in luxury management. And in 2022, its MBA in Luxury Brand Marketing & International Management was ranked fifth among the world’s best master’s degrees in Luxury Management<\/strong> and, among the fifty schools listed, first in France<\/b>. The main criteria taken into account in this ranking are the recognition of the program by companies<\/b> that recruit and the school’s active approach to them, the placement (salaries and positions held) of graduates<\/b>, and finally student satisfaction.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Established in 1996 at the Ecole des Cadres (now EDC Paris Business School), <\/b>Sup de Luxe has joined the international higher education network of the Planeta group.<\/b> Its program has expanded considerably: in 2015, it launched the Bachelor’s degree in Luxury, specializing in commerce and marketing, and the Master of Science (MSc) in Global Luxury Management, accredited by the CGE (Conf\u00e9rence des Grandes Ecoles). In 2020, it launched the Online MBA in Luxury Management and obtained CGE accreditation for the MSc in Fashion & Luxury Business. In 2006, Sup de Go\u00fbt was also launched, designed to train future managers in the French gastronomy and savoir-vivre professions. Several chairs have also been recently created with prestigious partners in the sector, following the example of the Cartier Chair, which was launched in 1990. The Chair in Excellence in Sales Professions in the Luxury Sector<\/b> was launched in 2022 with the wine group Vranken Pommery-Monopole<\/b>, while the Chair in Innovation & Entrepreneurship in the Luxury Sector<\/b> was created this year with the French watchmaker March LA.B.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n More than 10,000 luxury professionals<\/b> have met with Sup de Luxe students since 1990 at conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events. The highlight of these events has been the Grands T\u00e9moins conferences, during which 300 leading figures from the worlds of luxury, communication, and culture, such as Guillaume de Seynes (Herm\u00e8s), Nicolas Bos (Van Cleef & Arpels), designer Chantal Thomass, and G\u00e9raldine Dobey (Mandarin Oriental), have come to share their experiences.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since 1990, more than 3,500 students from around the world <\/b>have obtained the Sup de Luxe diploma, with more than 2,500<\/b> now part of the active alumni network<\/b>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Many of them gathered yesterday for cocktails, a sit-down dinner, and an evening of dancing, punctuated by entertainment. The highlight was the auction by Julien-Vincent Brunie (Christie’s) of gifts donated by partner luxury brands (Bernardaud, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, etc.). Some of these, such as Heavenly jewelry, Rose et Marius Haute Parfumerie de Provence, and Springer & Fersen watches, were founded by Sup de Luxe graduates. The amount raised, over \u20ac38,000, was donated to the Fabrique Nomade. Created in 2016 by In\u00e8s Mesmar, this association works to help migrant and refugee artisans in France find employment. Several of its prot\u00e9g\u00e9s, with their valuable skills, now work for luxury brands.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nExtensive program<\/h2>\n
