\u201cHello Mr. Bernard Arnault, feverishness does not justify slander<\/b>,\u201d he posted on Saturday evening on X<\/b>, saying he was \u201cvery surprised by the caricatural nature of the \u2018attacks\u2019 against him.\u201d \u201cYour comments about me are irrational and unfounded,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Zucman explained that he had \u201cnever been an activist in any movement or a member of any party<\/b>\u201d and that his \u201cwork as a researcher and teacher<\/b>\u201d was his \u201csole activity.\u201d “Bernard Arnault is wrong to question my professional qualifications by referring to my ‘pseudo-academic competence. With the rise of Trumpism, I have seen this discourse denigrating knowledge and research flourish in the United States,” he added regretfully.<\/p>\n
