With sales of \u20ac220.8 million<\/strong>, up 5.7% organically, the French company has made a solid start.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Cognac division<\/strong>, the mainstay of R\u00e9my Cointreau<\/strong> (nearly 60% of sales), recorded organic growth of +1.3% <\/strong>with \u20ac131.3 million,<\/strong> despite a decline in published data of -3.1%, penalized by unfavorable exchange rate effects (particularly the dollar and the renminbi). This growth is explained by a very strong recovery in the United States<\/strong>, supported by a particularly low basis of comparison following last year’s destocking.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Asia, the situation remains more nuanced : the Chinese market, which is essential for high-end spirits, is facing difficult economic conditions, weak demand in the premium segment, and the closure of the duty-free channel. Nevertheless, the group highlights the resilience of its e-commerce sales, supported by the performance of R\u00e9my Martin CLUB.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA),<\/strong> demand for Cognac remains under pressure, affected by intense competition and consumer caution in the face of economic uncertainty.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In contrast, the Liqueurs & Spirits<\/strong> division recorded strong organic growth of +17.3%<\/strong> for sales of \u20ac86.2 million<\/strong>, driven by extremely favorable momentum in all regions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the United States, Cointreau<\/strong> and The Botanist<\/strong> led the way : the satirical \u201cAny Tequila\u201d campaign, featuring actress Aubrey Plaza<\/strong>, captured attention around the Margarita cocktail and boosted results.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In EMEA, growth is driven by Cointreau, Metaxa<\/strong>, and Mount Gay<\/strong>. Telmont<\/strong> champagne, in its transition to 100% organic and regenerative viticulture, has expanded its range with the R\u00e9serve de la Terre Ros\u00e9 cuv\u00e9e<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Finally, the Asia-Pacific<\/strong> region is also showing robust growth, thanks to the strong performance of Cointreau<\/strong> and Bruichladdich<\/strong>, and improved demand in certain high-end segments.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nevertheless, revenue generated by partner brands fell sharply by 41.7% in organic terms<\/strong>, confirming the group’s strategy of focusing on its strategic brands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the strength of this strong first quarter, R\u00e9my Cointreau announced an upward revision of its annual forecasts<\/strong>, despite the volatile environment. The group now anticipates an organic decline in EBIT of between -5% and -9%<\/strong>, compared with the -15% to -19% previously forecast.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It expects organic sales growth in the mid-single digits<\/strong> (between +3% and +7%) for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, with a rebound expected in the second half, particularly in the United States and China.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The outlook also benefits from a readjustment of customs impacts<\/strong>. Following a minimum price agreement signed with China and recent statements by Donald Trump, R\u00e9my Cointreau has reduced its estimate of the net impact of customs duties to \u20ac45 million<\/strong>, down from \u20ac65 million previously. This decrease is mainly due to easing tariff pressure in China (\u20ac10 million compared to \u20ac40 million previously estimated).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n R\u00e9my Cointreau is also continuing its diversification and innovation strategy by acquiring a minority stake in JNPR<\/strong>, a young French brand pioneering alcohol-free spirits. Founded in 2020, JNPR offers distilled beverages that are free of sugar, alcohol, and artificial flavors, with recipes inspired by gin. This transaction, carried out via RC Corporate Ventures<\/strong>, aims to support the rise of the \u201cNo\/Low Alcohol\u201d market, which is growing rapidly in developed countries.
