The latest 2024 issue of the Fili\u00e8re Fran\u00e7aise du Cuir economic dossier<\/strong> once again provides valuable information for players in this teeming sector. A sector that employs over 133,000 people<\/strong> and generates sales of over 25 billion euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Driven by Alliance France Cuir, the<\/strong> voice of the sector’s 21 professional federations, the document is based on data, studies and statistics relating to the activities of the entire French Leather Industry, produced in particular by its Economic Observatory.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n But it also gives them a concrete and human dimension, through the testimonies of players from upstream to downstream<\/strong>, who explain \u201cthe solutions and initiatives found and implemented to meet the challenges imposed by an unenviable economic situation<\/strong>\u201d explains Philippe Gilbert, Director of the Economic Observatory of Alliance France Cuir.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In these \u201c56 pages for a snapshot of the past year\u201d (and an outline of the outlook for 2025), we also find \u201c points of view from analysts and external partners<\/strong>\u201d, designed to \u201cenrich\u201d our \u201cunderstanding of developments in the industry\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The general conclusion is that \u201cnot all indicators are green: after years of post-Covid rebound<\/strong>, players in the industry are reacting differently and evolving in an uncertain global context\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Overall, based on Customs figures for the first eight months of the year, Alliance France Cuir’s Observatoire \u00c9conomique notes that \u201cimport and export figures for the French Leather Industry have changed little<\/strong> compared with last year\u201d. with a slight increase in exports of 1% (in value) and a slight decrease in imports of 1%.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In more detail, while \u201cexports of raw materials fell by 4%, exports of finished products rose by 1%<\/strong>.
