Once again, the 2024 CFDA Awards<\/strong><\/b> ceremony, held on October 28 in New York<\/strong><\/b> to honor the best American and international designers, lived up to its nickname as theOscars of fashion.<\/strong><\/b> And <\/strong><\/b>all this under the guidance ofthe mistress of ceremonies, British actress and singer Cynthia Erivo, one of the title roles in the forthcoming film Wicked<\/strong><\/b>, a film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Like its predecessor dedicated to the film industry, the ceremony organized since 1980 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA<\/strong><\/b>) , chaired since January 2023 by designer Thom Browne<\/strong><\/b>, is an ideal showcase for the most spectacular looks. These are displayed not only by the winners themselves, but also by invited personalities…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s also a chance to spotlight talent in a creative industry<\/strong><\/b> as enamored of spotlights as the seventh art. But like the latter, it also delivers deeper messages<\/strong><\/b>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The venue for this 43rd edition, the American Museum of Natural History<\/strong><\/b>, underlined the often historical, sociological and even political significance of the choices made.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Of course, fashion is the Number One topic.<\/strong><\/b> For the 2024 awards, American Daniel Roseberry, artistic director of the Schiaparelli couture house<\/strong><\/b>, was presented with the prize for best international designer<\/strong><\/b> by Amy Griffin, <\/strong><\/b>author and entrepreneur (through the G9 investment fund she founded), who is preparing the release of her memoir The Tell, scheduled for March 11, 2025.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a statement, Schiaparelli CEO Delphine Bellini<\/strong><\/b> noted that \u201csince joining the house in 2019, Daniel Roseberry has reimagined the legacy of Elsa Schiaparelli,<\/strong><\/b> infusing her avant-garde spirit with modern artistic expression\u201d and that \u201chis visionary and instantly recognizable creations – bold, sculptural and surreal – have captivated the fashion world, making our house a favorite of celebrities and red carpets worldwide.<\/strong><\/b> \u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Daniel Roseberry<\/strong><\/b>, for his part, explained that \u201cbeing honored by the CFDA\u201d was \u201cboth humbling and exhilarating\u201d. \u201cAt Schiaparelli, we strive to create work that transcends fashion<\/strong><\/b>, and to be recognized by this community of extraordinary talent has profound meaning.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \t\tSometimes political<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n
