The American cosmetics giant was weighed down by the Asian market, particularly China, in the first quarter 2024-2025, which ended in September. Dropping its full-year forecasts, the group, which will welcome a new CEO in early 2025, continues its restructuring efforts.<\/h4>\n

Halloween was enough to make Est\u00e9e Lauder<\/strong><\/b> sweat this year.<\/p>\n

With brands such as Est\u00e9e Lauder, Clinique, M.A.C and Jo Malone<\/strong><\/b> in its portfolio, the American beauty leader announced lower-than-expected results for the first quarter of 2024-25<\/strong><\/b>, ended in September, on Thursday October 31 , weighed down by the Asian and Chinese markets.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

As a result, the Group cancelled its forecasts for the full fiscal year 2024-2025<\/strong><\/b>, settling for targets for the current second quarter.<\/p>\n

This underperformance led to a spectacular fall (-20.9% at the<\/strong><\/b> close) in Est\u00e9e Lauder shares on the New York Stock Exchange on the same day.<\/p>\n

CEO on the move<\/h2>\n

\u201cWe had anticipated a difficult start to fiscal year 2025<\/strong><\/b>. Our results are very much in line with what we envisaged in August\u201d, admitted Fabrizio Freda<\/strong><\/b> at a conference with analysts. The retirement of the<\/strong><\/b> 67-year-old CEO<\/strong><\/b>, who has been at the helm for 16 years, has just been announced for early 2025, when he will be replaced by St\u00e9phane de la Faverie.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n
