Discover the big winners.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While the 2023 Emmy Awards were held earlier this year due to the Hollywood strike, the 76th ceremony took place on 15 September.\u00a0<strong>The event rewarded the best American series<\/strong>\u00a0broadcast between June 2023 and May 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The best series at the 2024 Emmy Awards<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A firm favourite at the ceremony,\u00a0<strong>Sh\u014dgun received the award for Best Drama Series<\/strong>. Among the nominees were The Crown, Fallout, The Gilded Age, The Morning Show, Mr. &amp; Mrs. Smith, Slow Horses and 3 Body Problem. Broadcast from last February, Sh\u014dgun follows the story of John Blackthorne, the English commander of an abandoned ship who knows certain secrets that could help Lord Yoshii Toranaga, who is engaged in a fight to the death against his enemies in the Council of Regents. The series is set in 1600 Japan, at the dawn of a civil war that would mark the century. It is adapted from James Clavell\u2019s 1975 bestseller of the same name.
