The leather goods brand Mulberry announced on Tuesday, July 9th, the appointment of Andrea Baldo<\/strong> as CEO, effective from next September<\/strong>. He will assume his role at the helm of the company along with responsibilities on the board of directors.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This unexpected change comes following the immediate departure of Thierry Andretta<\/strong>, who had been at the helm<\/strong> of the British company since 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Of Italian origin, Andrea Baldo has been in the fashion industry since 2012<\/strong>. After leading Maison Martin Margiela<\/strong>, he spent nine years at the Italian brand Diesel<\/strong>, where he served as Director of Strategic Planning, Head of Lingerie Division, and Director of the high-end Black Gold line<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From 2013 to 2016<\/strong>, he then joined the brand Marni<\/strong>, before being appointed in October 2018 as Executive Director<\/strong> of the Scandinavian label Ganni<\/strong>. Andrea Baldo stepped down from his position at the end of April to make way for Laura du Rusquec, formerly of Kering with experience at Gucci and most recently as Deputy CEO at Balenciaga. During his five-year tenure, Ganni expanded its international retail presence, particularly in Europe, Asia, and the United States, while diversifying its product offerings.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n His arrival at the Danish label coincided with L Catterton\u2019s majority stake acquisition in 2018, an investment vehicle led by the LVMH Group.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cFollowing our search process, it was clear that Andrea\u2019s expertise, creativity, and strategic thinking within an international fashion brand made him absolutely the right person for this role<\/em>,\u201d stated Chris Roberts, Chairman of Mulberry, in a press release.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \t\tOver 20 Years of Experience<\/h2>\n
