With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games just around the corner and the famous Flame of Light travelling across France at this very moment, many museums in France have focused their exhibitions on sporting disciplines.\u00a0It\u2019s an opportunity to discover the history of the world of sport across a wide range of disciplines, from the culture of hard work to fashion and high-level sport.<\/strong>\u00a0Head to Rennes, Paris and Marseille for an in-depth look at the world of sport.<\/p>\n

Although Marseille will be hosting the football and sailing events at the 2024 Olympic Games, the European Capital of Culture is not content with this honour to showcase its attachment to sport.\u00a0From 26 April to 8 September 2024, the exhibition \u2018Des exploits, des chefs-d\u2019\u0153uvre\u2019 will be taking over three venues in the city to explore the relationship between sport and art.<\/strong>\u00a0In the emblematic Mucem, the famous museum dedicated to the Mediterranean, the \u2018Trophies and relics\u2019 section highlights the influence of sport on beliefs, between relics and contemporary objects. At the Frac Sud \u2013 Cit\u00e9 de l\u2019art contemporain, \u2018L\u2019Heure de gloire\u2019 presents sport as seen by artists. Finally, at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art contemporain, \u2018Tableaux d\u2019une exposition\u2019 brings together works on the same theme.<\/p>\n

From 20 March to 22 September 2024, the exhibition \u2018Corps \u00e0 corps \u2013 Combats et luttes dans le sport\u2019 (\u2018Bodies, Bodies, Battles and Struggles in Sport\u2019) will be on show in Senlis, in the Oise department.\u00a0From Heracles to Mohamed Ali, the exhibition explores the notion of virility and body-building excess over the centuries.<\/strong>\u00a0The greatest fighters of Greek Antiquity, the athletes who inspired artists and philosophers in the Middle Ages and the athletes of the modern Olympic Games are all studied to gain an insight into the evolution of these disciplines and the resulting bodies.<\/p>\n
