Art\u00e9mis<\/strong>, the Pinault<\/strong> family’s holding company, has acquired a substantial stake in the weekly “Le 1”, marking a further expansion of its media empire.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Eric Fottorino<\/strong>, founder of “Le 1”, announced on Wednesday March 13 that Art\u00e9mis had acquired a 40%<\/strong> stake in the weekly. Launched in 2014, without advertising, this offers a single topic each week, deciphered by specialists.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The transaction was announced in the latest weekly newsletter, La Lettre.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “This week, Le 1 hebdo welcomes Art\u00e9mis, the asset holding company of Mr. Fran\u00e7ois Pinault, to its capital,”<\/em> the newspaper announced. “Art\u00e9mis thus takes over the shares of Mr. Henry Hermand, co-founder of Le 1 hebdo, who passed away in 2016, and his heirs, who have continued to support our title.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Launched in 2014<\/strong>, “Le 1 Hebdo” remains 60%<\/strong> majority-owned by its founders, comprising Eric Fottorino, Natalie Thiriez<\/strong> and the family of the late Laurent Greilsamer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Art\u00e9mis, founded in 1992<\/strong>, thus extends its media portfolio, which already includes the right-wing weekly “Le Point”. The holding company has a majority stake in French luxury conglomerate Kering, whose iconic brands include Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga<\/strong>.
