LVMH has kicked off the 3rd edition of You & ME, its Franco-Italian orientation and recruitment fair aimed at promoting excellent professions, from craftsmen to sales consultants. In addition to Florence and Padua, the Italian program now reaches Naples for the first time.<\/h4>\n

On January 31, You & ME entered its third year.<\/p>\n

This annual career guidance and recruitment fair for young people and those undergoing retraining, launched by LVMH in 2015, became a tour in 2022. Now, at the start of 2024, it’s back on its Franco-Italian tour for eight dates in seven cities. Beginning in Paris on January 31, the event will end its run as the next luxury brand on May 7, for the first time, in Naples. And this after passing through Florence and Padua.<\/p>\n

The first event of the season took place at the Carreau du Temple, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, in the presence of Alexandre Boquel, Director of M\u00e9tiers d’Excellence at LVMH, Chantal Gaemperle, Director of Human Resources and Synergies, the tour’s ambassador, former basketball player Tony Parker, and the French Minister for Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination, Aurore Berg\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Luxus Plus was on site.<\/p>\n

This news follows the group’s announcement at the end of October that it would be setting up its future Institut des M\u00e9tiers d’Excellence in the heart of Paris, at 8 rue Bayard, in the 8th arrondissement.<\/p>\n

An employability boost<\/h2>\n

The Paris event, the first stage in this long-term project focusing on creative professions, craftsmanship and the customer experience<\/strong>, is already a resounding success. With 3,000 visitors on the first day and 25 Group companies taking part – a new record<\/strong> – this new tour promises to be “an excellent vintage”.<\/p>\n

This is an opportunity for France’s luxury goods industry<\/strong>, which, according to figures for 2022 from the Comit\u00e9 Colbert, the sector’s national representative body, will need at least 20,000 talented people every year<\/strong>. This situation is all the more worrying in that young people are in short supply, while employees undergoing retraining are finding new meaning in their careers<\/strong>. Not spared by the talent shortage<\/strong> affecting the French economy (85% of French luxury goods companies were concerned in 2022), Lvmh itself has announced that it is looking for 3,500 talents in its “m\u00e9tiers d’excellence”<\/strong>. A term which, unlike other companies, encompasses both craftsmen and sales consultants.<\/p>\n
