After the blackness and austerity of mourning, Moschino<\/strong> has returned to its characteristic color and exhuberance.<\/p>\n The fashion house belonging to the Italian Aeffe<\/strong> group<\/strong> has just announced the appointment of a new creative director, Argentine Adrian Appiolaza<\/strong>. He will oversee the company’s Women’s, Men’s and Accessories collections, reporting to Executive Chairman Massimo Ferretti.<\/strong><\/p>\n He succeeds Italian designer Davide Renne, who died suddenly last November<\/strong>, just ten days after taking up his post.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Adrian Appiozala makes his Moschino debut on a high note.<\/p>\n The 51-year-old designer will present his first collection for autumn\/winter 2024\/25 at Milan Fashion Week on February 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n His silhouettes will be shown in the Museo della Permanente<\/strong>, a historic building dating from the last century. The venue, which had already hosted the exhibition “Moschino – X anni di Kaos! 1983-1993” exhibition, celebrating the House’s first decade of creation, should particularly inspire Adrian Appiolaza. The designer is himself a keen fashion collector.<\/strong><\/p>\n In his personal archives, he has collected rare pieces by designers such as Japanese Comme des Gar\u00e7ons, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake<\/strong>, Englishwoman Vivienne Westwood<\/strong> and Frenchmen Jean Paul Gaultier<\/strong> and Martin Margiela<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Franco Moschino has always been among them. Having access today to these memories, walking through these corridors brimming with history just waiting to be heard, touching clothes I’d only seen in magazines, has been invaluable and will serve as a compass on the journey I’ve just embarked upon<\/em>,” declared Adrian Appiozala on the occasion of his appointment.<\/p>\n Adrian Appiozala brings to Moschino more than just his expertise in fashion’s recent past. In addition to his cosmopolitan profile<\/strong>, nourished in particular by his Argentine roots and his training in London, he has worked in some of the world’s leading luxury fashion houses.<\/strong><\/p>\n After growing up in Buenos Aires, where his vocation was born in his grandmother’s sewing workshop, his favorite playground, Adrian Appiozala flew to London at the age of 20. Attracted by the richness of the scene across the Channel, he indulged his passion for music, but above all trained at one of the best (if not the best) fashion schools in the world, Central Saint Martins in London<\/strong>. His destiny took shape as soon as he finished his studies, when Phoebe Philo, then head of design at Chlo\u00e9 (Richemont Group)<\/strong>, spotted the collection presented for his diploma and invited him to join her team in 2002.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\nA flying start<\/h2>\n
