Against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions and growing concerns, the World Economic Forum (WEF) is bringing world leaders together in Davos under the theme “Rebuilding trust”. Notable personalities are taking part in the discussions, which will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, climate change, the labor market and digital evolution. Concerns about misinformation and the long-term viability of companies will also be at the heart of the debates.<\/h4>\n

Since Monday January 15<\/strong>, the world’s political and economic leaders have been gathering in Davos<\/strong>, Switzerland, to kick off the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The event runs until January 19<\/strong> against a backdrop of rising geopolitical tensions worldwide, with ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, not to mention the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea threatening global trade.<\/p>\n

The slogan of the 2024 edition of Davos is “Rebuilding trust”<\/strong>, and all the round tables scheduled from Tuesday to Friday will focus on four key themes, as the WEF has emphasized. Thus, on the agenda of this year’s main concerns will be sessions devoted to the rise of artificial intelligence, the challenges of climate change, labor market dynamics as well as the ever-changing digital landscape.<\/p>\n

“An unstable world order characterized by polarizing discourses, insecurity, worsening impacts of extreme weather and economic uncertainty are leading to an accelerated spread of risks – including fake news and disinformation,”<\/em> said Saadia Zahidi<\/strong>, WEF Executive Director.<\/p>\n

Over 100 governments<\/strong> are represented, along with all the major international organizations, 1,000 Forum partners, as well as civil society leaders, experts, youth representatives, social entrepreneurs and members of the press.<\/p>\n

Notable speakers at this year’s forum include US Secretary of State Antony Blinken<\/strong>; European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen<\/strong>; Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian<\/strong> ; Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdelrahmane al-Thani<\/strong>; French President Emmanuel Macron<\/strong>; Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh<\/strong>; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong>; and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.<\/strong><\/p>\n
