Three years after the death of his great-uncle, the famous couturier Pierre Cardin, his sole heir, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, is struggling to revive an empire that had fallen asleep on its laurels. But he came up against a part of the family that legally contested the transfer of the group.<\/h4>\n

Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin<\/strong> has no shortage of ideas for waking up the sleeping beauty that has become the group created by his great-uncle, designer and businessman Pierre Cardin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the occasion of the inauguration of the renovated historic boutique<\/strong>, which originally opened in 1966 at 59 du Faubourg Saint-Honor\u00e9<\/strong>, Paris, the group’s new CEO spoke to FashionNetwork<\/strong> about his plans to restore the group’s lustre. The group’s image has deteriorated due to over-licensing and a lack of artistic creativity<\/strong>. But Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin<\/strong> will also have to battle against the late designer’s grandnieces, who are challenging his status as sole heir in court.<\/p>\n

Since Pierre Cardin’s death, a number of events have already marked the group’s desire for rebirth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On July 2, 2022, a fashion show paid tribute to the couturier<\/strong> who would have turned 100. In his Venetian palazzo, the Palazzo Ca’Bragadin, the new collection created by the Maison’s Parisian studio did not transgress his legacy, but paid tribute to his creations<\/strong>. The silhouettes were strongly inspired by his futuristic pieces (which had nevertheless gone out of fashion…), such as the famous trapeze dress.<\/p>\n\n<\/p>\n
