The Swiss Lalique Group has appointed Nina M\u00fcller, formerly of Swarovski and Zurich department store Jelmoli, to replace Roger von der Weid as CEO at the beginning of 2024. The latter will become Executive Vice-President.<\/h4>\n

Lalique Group<\/strong> will welcome its new Managing Director in February.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Austrian-born Nina M\u00fcller<\/strong> will replace Roger von der Weid<\/strong>, who has held the position since 2006, while also serving as Managing Director. He will become Executive Vice-President<\/strong> of Lalique. Headquartered in Zurich, the Swiss group combines the famous Lalique crystal house with perfume and hotel-restaurant activities<\/strong> (Villa Ren\u00e9 Lalique, Ch\u00e2teau Hochberg, Ch\u00e2teau Lafaurie-Peyraguey).<\/p>\n

Nina M\u00fcller, who ran the Jelmoli department store<\/strong> from 2020 until last spring (and was a member of the management board of its parent company, Swiss Prime), had to make a career change: the iconic store, founded in Zurich in 1833 and the largest of its kind in Switzerland, is to close its doors at the end of 2024. The institution was unable to survive the fall in sales, which meant that it was no longer able to cope with its heavy burdens, i.e. an excessively large surface area and workforce (850 employees).<\/p>\n

Jewelry specialist<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before taking the helm at Jelmoli, Nina M\u00fcller had already dabbled in the world of jewelry<\/strong>, one of Lalique’s specialties along with tableware and decoration. From 2016 to 2020, she headed the watch and jewelry retailer Christ<\/strong>, owned by Coop, Switzerland’s number two retailer.<\/p>\n\n<\/p>\n
