North America stands out as the undisputed leader, registering some 1.4 million surgical and non-surgical procedures in 2021, representing a notable 40% increase on the previous year, according to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.<\/p>\n

By 2023, liposuction will be the most frequently performed procedure, dethroning breast surgery, which had previously been on a par. This development underscores a significant shift in patient preferences.<\/p>\n

“Breast augmentation is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures because it offers many advantages for patients: improved self-confidence, a wide range of implant choices, and constant improvements in surgical techniques, implant safety and quality. Post-surgical recovery time is also short, and the procedure is performed as day surgery,<\/em>” explains a spokesperson for Claris Clinic<\/a>, a Belgian medical-surgical center devoted exclusively to aesthetics.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The average age of patients opting for breast surgery is steadily falling. Social networks, cultural pressure and constantly evolving beauty are all factors driving young women to take the cosmetic surgery plunge.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Younger generations are strongly influenced by social networks, where body image is often given pride of place. Celebrities, influencers and social media personalities who share their experiences of cosmetic surgery can have a significant impact on young women’s decisions.
